Groundhog

About this Wine Trail

The Groundhog Wine Trail is the state’s longest, stretching from Altoona in central Pennsylvania through the Allegheny National Forest toward Erie. This wide geographic base guarantees an equally wide variety of experiences provided by the trail’s nine wineries.

Tips for Visiting

Located in the center of this sprawling wine trail is the Allegheny National Forest, offering camping, hiking, charming towns along the way, and the opportunity to “walk through the sky” on the Kinzua Sky Walk, a railroad bridge that was the world’s longest, highest bridge at the time of its construction. No trip to this wine trail would be complete without a visit to Punxsutawney, home of Phil, the most famous of the animal for which this trail was named! Get more information to plan your trip here.
