This Year, Naylor’s Grape Blossom & Music Festival Has a Very Special Message
Stewartstown, PA, April 14, 2016– This year marks the 38th Grape Blossom Festival at Naylor Wine Cellars. Every June, the winery invites people of all ages to join them in celebrating the coming grape-growing season with live music, dancing, local vendors, wine tasting, and vineyard tours, as a celebration of the vineyard and hoping for a bountiful harvest. So far this year has been particularly hard with the loss of the oldest member of the family. At 113 years young, Mr. Naylor’s dear mother, Helen Wheat passed away in mid February. In the spirit of living life to the fullest and appreciating every day we are given, we will be celebrating Mr. Naylor’s 88thBirthday in conjunction with this spring’s festivities. When asked about what it means to celebrate 88 years on this earth, Mr. Naylor had this to say:
“I would like to dedicate our 38th Grape Blossom Festival on Saturday, June 5th to my mother, Helen Ida Wheat who went to live with her Heavenly Father on February 17th. Mom was 113 years old, the third oldest person in America. There is no doubt in my heart that my long life, with many more years to follow, is because of mom’s inspiration throughout my 88 years with her.”
The Grape Blossom & Music Festival will be held on Sunday, June 5th from Noon to 6pm at Naylor Winery, 4069 Vineyard Road, Stewartstown, PA 17363. Courtesy of MyRuralRadio.com there will be six bands on stage including The Red Eye Kings, Blind Ellis, The Son of Jane, Jeff Stike Band, the Blue Soles and American Hollar. There will be many local vendors, wine tasting and a cake cutting for Mr. Naylor. Admission is $5 for attendees over 21, Free for under 21.
Naylor Wine Cellars was founded by Richard and Audrey Naylor in 1978 and is one of the oldest wineries in Pennsylvania. Today, the winery continues to be family owned and operated.
