If you’re in Pennsylvania and you love wine, you’re in luck. If you’re more of a homebody, you’re also in luck. With the recent passing of Act 39, local wines are now being sold in grocery stores across the state – which is big news for Pennsylvania. Prior to this cheers-worthy milestone, the only place to purchase many of our local wines was at the wineries themselves. Now, you can stock up on wines from down the road or across the state while doing your weekly (or daily) shopping. And, of course, PA wines are also proudly on display at the Fine Wines and Good Spirits stores in all regions of the state.
Speaking of our large state, it might come as a surprise, but Pennsylvania’s climate and soil has made it the fifth largest grape growing region in the entire country. And it’s not just quantity that’s being produced, it’s quality as well. Pennsylvania has been producing more and more award winning wines and capturing the attention of local sommeliers. Keep an eye out for locally produced wines at your favorite restaurant, whether it’s farm to table or fine dining.
