An article published by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has highlighted some of the many wins at the 2019 Pennsylvania Wine Competition. Lawrenceville’s Arsenal Cider House and Wine Cellars was awarded a double gold medal for Best Sweet Wine in the competition with their 2018 Red Raspberry. In addition to this win, the winery took home gold medals for its 2018 Babywaker Blackberry, 2018 Isabella’s Rose, a silver for its 2018 Murray’s Orange Agave Mead and a bronze for its 2018 Calvary Cranberry.
North Fayette’s Black Dog Winery won Best White Sweet Wine for its 2018 Trophy Wife (a repeat win) as well as Best Red Sweet Wine for its 2017 Pink Kitty. It also won gold for its 2018 Big Beaver Blush and silver for its 2018 Wine Farm Red and its 2017 Chardonnay.
Mount Pleasant’s Greendance Winery won silver for its 2017 Ruby Noir and bronze for its 2017 Pinot Gris and 2017 Chardonnay.
Greene County’s Thistlethwaite Vineyards won bronze with its 2017 Red Dawg Rouge.
And Rostraver’s Vinoski Winery won silver with its 2017 Diamond and bronze with its 2017 Concord.
