In our new Local Pairings series, we’re teaming up bright lights from the worlds of sports, entertainment, food, and media with a wine expert for a bit of tasting and chatting.

In our latest video, we’re bringing together wine and music — a natural pairing. Jeremy Noah, a trained sommelier from Pittsburgh, helps Jeff Tomrell and Rheed, two members of the nationally renowned cover band Go Go Gadjet, get the most out of a glass of wine.

Noah walks them through a tasting of Teroldego, a bold, earthy red that originated in Italy before thriving in Northwestern PA. Along the way, the trio chat about how age impacts wine, the difference between fruitiness and sweetness, and the ideal serving temperature for both reds and whites. Plus, they practice their mad swirling skills.

The wine featured in this video is a Teroldego from Mazza Vineyards in Erie County.
