There are few better showcases for the natural beauty of Pennsylvania than its wineries, which often feature stunning views, thoughtfully designed al fresco seating options, and grassy spots to spread out a picnic blanket or uncork a folding chair. In this story, we’re highlighting some of our favorite places in the state to sip in the breeze.
SouthEast
Located in a bucolic part of the Lehigh Valley, Galen Glen Winery (Andreas, PA) boasts a beautiful patio and lawn that overlooks their property. Sip on a glass of their award-winning Riesling or Grüner Veltliner and watch the world go by. Extra bonus: The winery often invites food trucks to supply the snacks.
Nestled in the pristine Mahantongo Valley, Benigna’s Creek Vineyard & Winery (Klingerstown, PA) overlooks the quaint village below. On a clear day, you can peer down the valley towards the Susquehanna River. The breathtaking view alone is worth the trip, but stay for the wines.
Tolino Vineyards (Bangor, PA) lures wine lovers to its patio and expansive lawn with fire pits, wine barrels for photo ops, and views of their vines. Enjoy the sunshine with your feet in the grass.

Waltz Vineyards & Winery (Manheim, PA) offers something special: a hill-top vantage point from which you can see into three counties. When you look out over the vines, note that the oldest grapes are closest to the winery. Invite friends and plan for a picnic!
Juniata Valley Winery (Mifflin, PA) takes advantage of their expansive green spaces by hosting live musical acts and inviting guests to BYO blankets and lawn chairs — they’ll supply the wine! Enjoy a view of the historic Wilson House B&B, and consider staying the night next time. A three-course breakfast is one of the perks.

The deck at Shade Mountain Winery & Vineyards (Middleburg, PA) overlooks their 70-acre vineyard in the Susquehanna Valley. A tasting flight on their expansive deck is a marvelous break from the hustle and bustle.

Explore the 17-acre property and relax on the patio while sampling Bella Terra Vineyards’ (Hunker, PA) slate of wines. While you’re at it, pair a vino, cider, or wine cocktail with food from their enticing bistro menu.
Greendance Winery’s outdoor seating breaks from tradition with tables nestled between tall grasses, butterfly bushes, apple trees, and native brambles for intimate sips with nature. Their Nectar Garden also features the Cabin Cafe, for made-to-order savories, and a stage where live music fills the property every weekend from May through October.

Antler Ridge is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Bradford County just north of Rome PA, near Towanda. Their tasting room offers picturesque mountain views, while their tank room will capture your attention as you view their state-of-the-art facilities through large windows while sampling your wines. Antler Ridge offers indoor and outdoor dining (with heated tents) and bar service all year long. The restaurant offers fantastic BBQ and a slew of appetizers meant to fill any belly!
Sorrenti Family Estate is a treasured retreat nestled in the Poconos. A family-run winery, distillery & brick oven pizzeria, the Estate is located alongside the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Explore the reserve and learn about the significance, diversity, and importance of the Wildlife Refuge. Break for lunch and delicious wines as you learn about this 20+-year-old estate and take in the picturesque views.
