The PWA is a non-profit trade association and an advocate on behalf of the state’s growing multi-billion dollar wine industry. Why become a member? Here are the top 10 benefits of joining the association.
1. ADVOCACY
Pennsylvania Winery Association Members benefit from advocacy.
The PWA fought for wineries to be able to sell wine by the glass, sell PA-made alcohol in tasting rooms, Farmer’s Market permits and 100 annual off-site permit days. These efforts have translated to expanded sales and reach for wineries.
2. PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL EVENTS
Members can participate in established wine festivals and events, like PA Farm Show, Longwood Gardens Wine & Jazz Festival, and Seven Springs Wine Festival.
3. ADDITIONAL FUNDING
Members can benefit from state and federal grants that are awarded to the PWA to promote Pennsylvania wines, wine trails, wine regions, and visits to your winery.
4. MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES
PWA Members benefit from statewide marketing, advertising and promotional materials.
5. PROMOTION
Members are promoted on PennsylvaniaWine.com, Social Media, PWA’s Mobile Application, and PWA’s Podcast: “Uncork PA”.
6. SUPPORT FROM PENN STATE
Members support and gain from Penn State Extension’s Wine & Grape Team, especially the PSU Extension Educators in Enology and Viticulture.
7. EXPAND AWARENESS
PWA Members have a voice working to educate legislators and stakeholders about the $4 billion industry of Pennsylvania Wines. Joint efforts to expand awareness of the industry’s needs include working with the PA Department of Agriculture, PLCB, PA Toursim Offices, PA Preferred, and Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores.
8. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
PWA Members have educational opportunities through our annual conference, featuring programming on wine marketing, wine business and learning from industry experts.
9. INDUSTRY NEWS
Members receive consistent communication regarding industry opportunities in the Membership Crush, PA Wines Marketing Updates and other industry emails.
10. COLLABORATION & SUPPORT
Members are part of an industry that collaborates and supports other PA wineries to share concerns and work on resolving PA wine industry related issues.
