Shade Mountain Winery & Vineyards, a family-owned & operated business, opened its doors in December of 1999. Along with the winery, we do have our own 68-acre vineyard that is home to a whole host of different grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Lemberger, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Traminette, Steuben, Niagara and Concord to name a few. We also have an entire line of fruit and specialty wines ranging in their sweetness levels from semi-sweet to sweet. Some of our specialty wines include our Mint wine, Granny Z’s Mint Iced Tea, “Bad Moose Mead” and our Moscato wine. Currently, we produce over 35,000 gallons of wine annually, and aside from the winery, we support 2 other satellite stores (located in the “Old Train Station” in Riverside and Millheim). We offer daily, complimentary tastings at all our locations.
