Adams County Winery Celebrating 50 years in Business!

Established in 1975, it is the fifth-oldest operating winery in Pennsylvania and the first ever in Adams County. The event will include a special presentation and citation from the office of State Representative Dan Moul at 12:30 p.m., followed by live music from the Skyla Burrell Blues Band from 1-4 p.m., and delicious fare from their own Terrace Bistro and Uncle Moe’s Soul Food Truck.

Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to sign a commemorative barrel and raise a glass to 50 years of history. Guests can also expect Golden Anniversary specials, only available during this event, plus fun activities including a label game where you can win a tour for 8 people!

Just eight miles from Gettysburg, the winery has grown from a small family operation into an award-winning producer and regional tourism fixture. Its charming 1860s bank barn and scenic vineyards welcome thousands of guests each year, offering quality wines in a warm, down-to-earth setting.

Over five decades, the winery has expanded both its production and its reach, adding a satellite tasting room in downtown Gettysburg in 2006 and placing its wines on shelves in major retailers like Weis Markets and Giant Food Stores. A major structural expansion in 2021 enhanced production and the overall guest experience.

“It’s been an honor to carry on the legacy of Adams County Winery for nearly three decades,” said owners John and Katherine. “We’re so thankful for the community that has supported us along the way, and made the winery a place where memories are made. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone together and raise a glass to the next chapter.”

Known for favorites like Rebel Red and Tears of Gettysburg, Adams County Winery has received numerous awards and was named Winery of the Year in 2024. Its wines have helped raise the national profile of Pennsylvania winemaking. The winery also contributes as a top Adams County business in glass recycling, reflecting its long-standing commitment to sustainability.
