Pennsylvania has a long legacy of grape growing and winemaking. More than 330 years ago, William Penn planted a vineyard in what is now Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. That original vineyard grew an industry, now home to nearly 400 wineries and 14,000+ acres of vineyards producing more than 2 million gallons of wine annually. Pennsylvania is fourth in the nation for wine production and its wineries are producing an exciting diversity of wines.
